Delighted to have participated in such a lively interactive session with members of FSB Shropshire branch. The fun took place at Shrewsbury Town FC at an event organised by Winning Moves as part of the Optimising Business Broadband for Shropshire and Staffordshire project.
I am not quite sure if anybody believed my tale about how LinkedIn helping me to realise my childhood ambition to play in front of a crowd at a Football League club. Nobody believed I would achieve it then either! It is true that simply by allowing you to keep in touch with all of those people you have met in business, or will meet, is a massive strength of LinkedIn.
There were lots of interesting people representing fascinating businesses there. You know things are going right when you get purposeful and sometimes challenging questions. The audience were quite right to ask about how much time to put into LinkedIn (and other Social Media platforms) and not fazed when I suggested it would take more effort to achieve results then maybe they were bargaining for.
Fortunately the world is waking up to the idea that Social Media is a “no sweat” solution. You have to think about how you are going to use it, put in the requisite amount of graft and be prepared to keep going with it for quite some time. Don’t you.
